May 28 & 29 2010 – Mandalay Bay Convention Center played host once again to the UFC Fan Expo. This year, the expo was bigger than ever! The festivities couldn’t have been so wonderful w/out the tremendous support from the fans who attended. Hopefully I was able to capture just a taste of what took place. Enjoy. Misc Ailments Humphreys Backstage Lounge 4.13.10

Had another great opportunity to photograph Misc Ailments. This time, the lighting situation was better. Humphreys Backstage Lounge provided excellent lighting situations to pair up my Canon 5D with the 85mm f1.2. I’m really enjoying this lens and will be using it to shoot UFC 114 in May. But enough about that. Misc Ailments ripped the stage and was one of the best bands to play on this night. It’s a great pleasure to photograph such inspirational and passionate musicians and I look forward to shooting more in the future. For now, enjoy…

Misc Ailments Kava Lounge San Diego 3.23.10

On Tuesday March 23rd, I got the chance to photograph a good friend of mine, Rich Ibarra perform with his band Misc Ailments at San Diego’s Kava Lounge. The band was awesome, sounded great and was the best performing act of the night. I took the opportunity to utilize the monstrous 85mm f1.2 paired up to my 5d & was pleasantly surprised by the results. Rich was also gracious enough to support my brand, NAKAMA by wearing the T-shirt on stage! It was a exhilarating to see it up there! Special thanks to Rich for all of the support. Lookout more from Misc Ailments. They will be performing at Humphrey’s in San Diego on April 13th, so don’t miss it!

Hawaii TwentyTen brought me many experiences. During my trip, I had the pristine opportunity to photograph Creed Chameleon’s record release party for his new album “The Ultimatum“. Creed is holding down the Hawaiian music scene with awesome charisma on stage, lyrical skills & the sick tracks to back it up. Make sure you peep Creed Chameleon on iTunes & visit his website here. (Hawaii Twenty Ten) Honolulu Festival

What a way to kick off my birthday in Waikiki. The Honolulu Festival ended with an awesome parade down Kalakaua Avenue and I got the chance to shoot the entire thing! Below are a few of my favorite shots. The highlight was being part of the parade somewhat, because I was able to stand in the middle of the street as the performers where marching down for the spectators!
